New (One Trip) Shipping Containers

All “new” containers sold in North America have made a single journey, hence the term “new (one trip).” Around 95% of these containers are manufactured in China, where they are loaded with cargo and shipped to the United States.

This one-time use helps offset shipping costs, as the container doubles as packaging for goods being exported. The cost of transport is largely covered by the buyers of those imported goods.

Although these containers are technically used, they’ve only made one trip by sea and arrive in excellent condition. Minor cosmetic wear such as small scratches or dents may be present from loading and transit, but they are structurally flawless.
